The symposium is held by the Water Environment Federation in cooperation with the Florida Water Environment Association and the Water Environment & Reuse Foundation.
The symposium is held by the Water Environment Federation in cooperation with the Florida Water Environment Association and the Water Environment & Reuse Foundation.
Nutrient removal systems have been successfully operated for decades. However, the wastewater industry is currently facing dramatic changes, shifting away from energy intensive wastewater treatment towards low-energy, sustainable technologies capable of achieving energy positive operation while recovering important resources. As a response to this dramatic change in the wastewater industry, researchers are working alongside with practitioners and operators to develop and implement innovative solutions to support the needs of our industry.
The conference program will be developed to include 25 minute presentations followed by a facilitated question and answer period. The symposium will also include pre-conference workshops. Abstracts addressing the following topics are invited:
Topics:
Advancements in Nitrogen Removal Processes
Optimization of Conventional Nitrogen Removal Processes
Phosphorus Management Processes
Sidestream Processes for Nitrogen Removal
Carbon Redirection for Nutrient Removal
Strategies for Meeting Ultra-Low Nutrient Effluent Quality Standards
Watershed-Level Nutrient Management
Planning and Decision Making: Environmental and Economic Sustainability
